What changes in history are plausible? (Could the Spanish Armada really have won?) And are the changes that flow from them reasonable? (Would the Inquisition really be still roasting heretics in England in 2014 if the Spanish Armada had won?) Why do we assume that changing a particular event would "stop the pendulum"?
